Decks Cleaned and Sealed Frequently Asked Questions

Why seal and stain my deck?

Many people spend their hard earn money building their deck. But, after six months their deck starts to turn gray. With in one year that beautiful deck then starts to warp and splintered. With a seal and stain this will prolong the life of your deck.

How does the sealer protect it?

When the deck is not protected the sun, rain, sow, and morning dew absorbs into the wood causing it to soften and swell. The stain protects it from the UV rays from the sun. The sealer protects it from the other weather elements.

What is the process of doing this?

First, we clean the wood using the best strippers and cleaners on the market. ( SunBriteSupply.com) This process is done by using a power washer. Second, we use a brightener to neutralize the deck and for it to return to it’s natural color. Third, we stain and seal the deck using the best penetrating oils. (ReadySeal.com)

Seal coating Frequently Asked Questions

Why seal coat my driveway?

New asphalt pavements seem dense and indestructible, but actually they are rather porous and begin to deteriorate immediately.

The sun oxidizes asphalt pavements, hardening the binder that holds the pavement together. The pavement becomes brittle and begins to crack.

Water enters the cracks. The expansion and contraction of water during freeze-thaw cycles enlarges the cracks.

The water seeps through the surface, softening the base. The pavement buckles and separates under heavy loads.

How often should I have my asphalt seal coated?

Most asphalt surfaces should be seal coated every two or three years. However, many factors such as traffic and weather should be considered.

How long after paving should I wait to seal coat?

Seal coating your new asphalt within a year of paving will greatly extend it's service life. However, your new asphalt surface should be allowed to cure for 180 days prior to applying sealer.

Do I have to be home to have my driveway seal coated?

No, just make sure that the area to be seal coated is clear of all vehicles, boats, etc. Most customers are not at home when work is being done. We do not need to be in your home, only on the driveway.

After completion, how long should I stay off the newly seal coated area?

The usual time to stay off the newly seal coated surface is 24 hours. Shaded driveways may take longer to dry.

Should I turn off my sprinkler system prior to the work being done?

Yes, all sprinklers should be turned off prior to seal coating. Water will ruin the seal coated surface.

What if it rains before the sealer has completely cured and ruins the newly seal coated surface?

Unfortunately, predicting the weather can be quite a challenge. If it rains after we seal coat your asphalt surface we will gladly redo the entire surface at no additional charge. We offer a 100% rain guarantee.

That depends upon the environment your house is in. Most exterior surfaces will last 6-24 months before they need another mildew wash.

What about preparation of the site?

What about the items around my house like barbecues, furniture, cars, etc.?
